PoE 3.27 Graft Guide: Dance in the White

Path of Exile 3.27 shakes things up in a big way with the Keepers of the Flame league, and the new Graft system is the heart of it all. Instead of tying all your power to gear and passives, you can now attach strange, living limbs to your character that act on their own. These Grafts use independent skills with fixed damage, cooldowns, and area coverage, which means they work on almost any build without needing special scaling PoE 1 Currency.

One of the most popular early options is Dance in the White, a Graft skill from the Dance in the Wind family that summons roaming tornadoes you manually cast. Once active, they sweep across the screen, firing piercing projectiles when they crit and chaining cold damage through tightly packed enemies, making early mapping feel fast and effortless.

Getting started with Dance in the White is fairly natural if you engage with the league mechanic. Unstable Breaches appear throughout acts and maps, and killing monsters inside them generates Graft Blood, the resource used to unlock nodes in the Genesis Tree. If you take the time to stabilize these Breaches by clearing enough enemies, you extend their duration and increase your chances of finding Wombgifts, which are special drops that unlock new Grafts. Wind-themed Wombgifts tend to show up early if you focus on fortified Breaches, often as soon as Act 3. Once you slot Dance in the White into one of your available Graft slots, it starts pulling its weight immediately, auto-targeting enemies and clearing packs without costing mana or interrupting your main skill.

The Genesis Tree is where the system really opens up. It's a large web of nodes that lets you influence what kind of rewards and modifiers you get, from gear and currency to specific Graft bonuses. If you lean into the Dance in the White side of the tree, you can bias rolls toward cold damage, projectile speed, and reduced cooldowns, which all make the tornadoes feel smoother and more lethal. Higher-tier Grafts can roll multiple modifiers, mixing personal bonuses like evasion on hit with skill-focused upgrades such as longer tornado duration or better crit scaling. You can also pick up economic perks that improve Breach loot, which helps sustain the system without feeling forced into constant grinding. Swapping Grafts is easy, so experimenting never feels punishing.

To get the most out of Dance in the White, crit chance is the key. The more often the tornadoes crit, the more often they unleash their projectile bursts, which is where most of the clear speed comes from. Builds that already lean into crit, like wanders or bow characters, slot it in seamlessly, while casters enjoy having extra damage happening in the background while they channel or cast. It pairs especially well with skills that benefit from enemies being grouped, since the tornadoes naturally herd packs together. Some Genesis modifiers effectively act like built-in support gems, letting you fine-tune how the Graft behaves without needing links. It's strong for clearing, but flexible enough that you can pivot later if you find a heavier-hitting Graft better suited for bosses.

As you move deeper into the campaign and into early maps, Graft progression speeds up significantly. High-density content like Delirium or Heist Breaches floods you with Graft Blood, letting you unlock large chunks of the Genesis Tree quickly. Many players focus heavily on Graft nodes early, using them to carry damage while their gear catches up. Dance in the White scales comfortably into red maps on a modest budget, especially if you roll useful modifiers and keep your crit chance high. While it won't out-damage a fully optimized endgame skill in the very late game, it remains one of the smoothest tools for league starts and midgame farming.

What really makes Dance in the White stand out is how it captures the spirit of the league. It's strange, a little unsettling, and incredibly effective, all without demanding a specific build or heavy investment. You farm a few Breaches, grow a limb on your back, and suddenly the screen fills with spinning storms of cold damage PoE Currency buy. For many players, that blend of creepiness and power is exactly what makes Path of Exile leagues memorable, and in 3.27, Dance in the White is one of the clearest examples of that design hitting the mark.
